EXPOC203: Content to Capability: Why More Training Isn't Making People Better

Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM · 30 min. (America/Los_Angeles)
Expo Stage Session (30 Min.)
Stage C, Marquee Ballroom

Information

AI has revolutionized content production. A prompt can become a course in minutes — but more content hasn't made people better at their jobs. In this session, participants will unpack why this happens and content alone was never meant to close that gap. Attendees will walk through a research-backed framework that separates a course people finish from an experience that changes how they work. Participants will explore what decades of research on behavior change reveal about training at scale builds skill. Attendees will see what becomes possible when AI can scale realistic practice sessions and real-time coaching at a scale.

During this session, you will learn:

  • Why completion rates don't translate into capability — and how to spot the "information trap" in your learning design
  • A practical framework (inform, demonstrate, practice) to design learning that changes behavior
  • What behavior change research reveals about the impact of feedback and coaching, and how they improve performance
  • How AI is changing the economics of practice, coaching, and feedback at a scale that wasn't possible before
