112: Measuring Impact: ROI and Your L&D Programs
Information
It doesn't take more than a quick search on LinkedIn or Google to see that L&D is as important as ever. If you want to retain your employees, prioritizing development programs is a must. Beyond that, L&D can help your organization stay adaptable to unprecedented change and reach new goals. But, it's not a blanket guarantee that any L&D you choose will have that impact-it has to be the type of learning program that resonates with your team and is effective. Which leads to the question: How do I build an L&D program that delivers a return on investment?
During this session, we'll break down what metrics you should consider looking at to judge if your L&D program is delivering on its goals, including looking at delivery costs, effective outcome tracking, and retention statistics. We'll explore where you can cut costs in building an L&D program and gaps that people often miss that are costing them money in the long run.
During this session, audience members will be polled to see how their business prioritizes L&D, if they find it difficult to find time for learning in their organization, and more. Additionally, the audience will be encouraged to participate in the discussion by sharing their biggest struggles in building a cost-conscious and effective learning program and problem-solving during the exercise with the community's help. Participants will receive a worksheet that they will work through during the session so they can walk away with a tangible action plan for building or improving their ideal L&D solution.
The session will give attendees tools to improve the overall effectiveness of L&D programs, including strategies for engaging learners to make their development program more impactful from the start. Finally, we will explore the importance of building a culture of learning within an organization, so that learning is a continuous process, rather than tied only to formal L&D programs.
